Ardaaga Hal-Abuurka | Graduate Entrepreneurship Dialogue
Hosted by HarHub
As graduate unemployment remains a major challenge, entrepreneurship is becoming an essential pathway for young people in Somaliland. Universities particularly Business Administration faculties—have a critical role to play in preparing students not only to seek employment, but to create businesses and generate jobs.
Academia and Entrepreneurship in Somaliland is a special edition of Ardaaga Hal-Abuurka designed to engage Business Administration students and fresh graduates in a practical conversation about entrepreneurship, innovation, and enterprise creation. The event aims to reshape how students think about their careers by highlighting entrepreneurship as a viable and necessary option.
The dialogue brings together representatives from universities, the financial sector, government, and HarHub to share practical insights on how students can transition from classroom learning into the startup economy. Speakers will explore how universities can prepare students for entrepreneurship, how business students can build real ventures, and what it takes for startups to become investment and finance ready.
Participants will also gain exposure to entrepreneurship opportunities within ministry of trade and tourism, as well as the role of development organizations in supporting entrepreneurs beyond traditional employment pathways.
The event will follow a short-talk format, an interactive Q&A session, and Ramadan-friendly networking, creating space for open discussion and connection among participants, students, speakers, and ecosystem actors.
This dialogue is open to aspiring entrepreneurs, students, fresh graduates, and stakeholders interested in supporting youth-led enterprise development in Somaliland.
