The Smart Climate Farming Project is a youth-focused green livelihoods initiative implemented for the second consecutive year to promote employment opportunities while addressing climate change challenges through climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable agribusiness development. The project is implemented in collaboration with SOS Somaliland and IBS Bank, supporting youth to build environmentally responsible and economically viable agricultural enterprises.

During the implementation period, 40 youth (32 males | 8 females) received hands-on training in climate-smart farming techniques and agropreneurship, equipping them with practical knowledge to adopt sustainable agricultural practices. Following the training, 26 participants (18 males | 6 females) benefited from structured mentorship to strengthen agribusiness planning, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

At the end of the incubation cycle, 24 youth-led startups (12 male-led | 12 female-led) presented their business concepts during a formal sales pitching event, showcasing innovative green business solutions. To further support enterprise growth, the project facilitated access to finance for 10 green businesses (8 male-led | 2 female-led) through the Green Project funding mechanism in partnership with IBS Bank, enabling participants to expand environmentally sustainable business models and strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods.
