The Leave No Youth Behind (LNYB) program supports youth transitioning out of care to become resilient, self-reliant, and economically active. Implemented in Hargeisa and Burao with support from LNYB Danida, the program integrates entrepreneurship training, core life skills development, and digital skills training to strengthen employability and sustainable income generation.
During the implementation period, 30 youth (14 males | 16 females) completed structured entrepreneurship and core life skills training, enhancing their confidence, decision-making abilities, and preparedness for independent living. In parallel, 30 youth (15 males | 15 females) completed intensive digital and multimedia skills training, gaining practical, market-relevant competencies to pursue freelancing and digital employment opportunities.
To support business creation, the program facilitated access to startup finance for 30 youth-led enterprises (14 males | 16 females), resulting in the establishment of 30 new businesses. Upon graduation, 28 participants (15 females | 13 males) received digital skills kits and tailored transition guidance, enabling them to move into freelancing, employment, or entrepreneurship pathways and strengthening their long-term income prospects.
